About Me
Being productive had always been a challenge for me. I was good at coming up with lots of ideas for what to do with my life but was unwilling to say "no" to any of them. I figured it would take me a good 300 years to accomplish them all. At the same time I was also a procrastinator and almost dropped out of U. C. Berkeley twice as a result.
I became obsessed with learning productivity. I figured that becoming more efficient with my time would happen sooner than inventing a cure for aging. I was also determined to end my procrastination--not through force of will but by understanding it better. I wanted a life that was fill with grace and flow, not just hard work and grim determination.
Then I became a student of the Generative Leadership Program, a 3-year-long leadership and management training program. They asked me to make and keep big promises, consistently. This raised the bar for my productivity and forced me to confront any clever ways in which I was fooling myself about my ability to deliver.
Today one of my hobbies is exploring new productivity tools and practices. Because technology is constantly changing, ideas are spreading more easily than ever over the Internet, and the demands on our productivity is growing, this is an endless hobby. I enjoy sharing what I learn with other people, especially when there's an "aha!" moment that suddenly makes their lives easier and less stressful.
I'm most passionate about empowering people to solve big problems. There are many giant problems facing humanity today and we need to scale up our ability to solve problems to meet the size of the problems we're facing. We can tackle big problems by working on teams or by cleverly organizing by the millions. Either way, being successfull will depend on each person's individual ability to perform, and that's what I'm here to support.
